Close encounters of the longears of Bonaire, otherwise known as DONKEYS! Dumped onto the island against their will by Spanish conquistadores centuries prior, donkeys have carved out their very own niche in this desert paradise. Brace yourself - it gets philosophical! What's the difference between a donkey and a cow? The answer lies within, but here's a hint - there are no cows on Bonaire. Only DONKEYS! Intelligent, standoffish, weary, and bold. Donkeys are what's NOT for dinner. The question is, will they be my friend?

Touchdown! A word of advice - never allow your number of takeoffs to exceed your number of landings. Welcome to the Dutch Caribbean. There is even a dude standing at baggage claim holding a sign with my name on it - Eureka!!! I'd tell you his name, but you gotta hear it. Plus, he has a sick accent. Plus, he has it in with the locals. We are definitely not in Southcentral Wisconsin anymore. First order - check into our house. Second order, purchase insurance. This is what a proper insurance policy looks like - cash money. I like money!

Atlanta Arrival

Changing planes (not underwear) in Atlanta. Smooth, easy, and MUCH better than the last time. For one thing, no one died. That's actually not a joke. Rode a motorcycle through Atlanta once; #neveragain. Changed planes a couple times in Atlanta, which is when I found out my mom passed away. Changing planes, changing attitudes - people get chill, crack jokes, dress down a bit. Ever leave a dairy farm in the dead of winter? Imagine trying to remember whether or not you closed all 1,500 garage doors or shut off all 2,000 ovens. It's all right here. Everyone needs to start somewhere - I'll start with a rum & coke.

AND we're off. A brief introduction as we break away from the frozen Dairy and head someplace warm to regroup. A nice, tidy, compact Hello! as the airplane departs Milwaukee. A reflection on the challenges of running a dairy farm in Wisconsin during a particularly brutal winter... Let's see - chip frozen feed and fight ice, or take a break and head somewhere warm for a stint? Lots to discuss. Even more to ponder. Feeling philosophical here. This is like a boulder rolling down a hill, either get in the way and get crushed or run with it! Welcome Aboard!
